Chinking & Caulking

Chinking and Caulking are ways of filling gaps between logs, logs and windows, doors, roof lines, foundations and other areas we want to prevent air and water from entering the building.

Log Home Sealants Overview

There are two types of sealants for log homes:

Log Chinking and Log Caulking

Which one is chosen will depend on what look you are trying to convey, and how your log home was constructed.

The difference between chinking and caulking is that caulking has a smooth appearance and chinking has a more textured appeal. Chinking is for wider joints. However, they both serve the same purpose.
